CONDUCTOR

 

Featuring an electrolytic, multiple-stranded circular flexible tinned copper wire (rope lay) in compliance with AS/NZS 1125-2.10 standards, the conductor ensures efficient power transmission while maintaining flexibility, essential for dynamic mining environments.

 

 

 

 

SEPARATOR

 

 

A semiconducting layer is applied over both power and earth conductors, enhancing the cable’s electrical properties and minimizing the risk of signal interference or distortion. This layer contributes to the overall reliability and performance of the cable in mining applications.

 

 

INSULATION

 

 

The cable’s insulation consists of XR-EP-90 (Class 1) material, according to AS/NZS 3808 standards. While earth cores remain uninsulated, the insulation on power conductors ensures high electrical resistance and thermal stability, safeguarding against electrical faults and ensuring reliable performance in demanding conditions.

 

 

SCREEN

 

 

Tinned copper and nylon braid, along with a semiconductive elastomer screen, provide effective shielding for phase cores, protecting against electromagnetic interference and ensuring signal integrity. This screen enhances the cable’s performance and reliability in harsh mining environments.

 

 

LAYUP

 

 

All phase cores are laid up in contact with each other, optimizing space utilization while maintaining electrical integrity. Additionally, two ground cores and one pilot core are laid up in between, facilitating proper grounding and ensuring consistent power distribution within the cable.

 

 

BEDDING

 

 

An elastomeric compound serves as bedding, providing additional insulation and mechanical protection. This layer enhances the cable’s resistance to environmental factors and mechanical stresses encountered in mining operations, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.

 

 

REINFORCEMENT

 

 

The cable incorporates an open weave braid for reinforcement, enhancing its mechanical strength and resistance to external forces. This reinforcement layer ensures the cable’s durability and longevity, even under harsh operating conditions in mining environments.

 

 

OUTER SHEATH

 

 

Encased in an extra heavy-duty elastomer outer sheath, compliant with AS/NZS 3808 standards, the cable offers superior resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and environmental factors. This protective sheath ensures long-term reliability and performance in demanding mining applications.
