Differences between SHD-PCG and SHD-GC cables


SHD-PCG cables: With integrated control functions, it is not just a power cable but also a control cable.


SHD-PCG cables were designed to solve the losses caused by separate laying of power cables and control cables and friction between them.


The emergence of SHD-PCG cables solves the existing problems and integrates control conductors and power conductors into one.


This makes them ideal for applications that require power distribution and control signals, such as longwall coal mining machines.


- **Complex machinery**: They are used for complex mining machinery that requires precise control and power supply at the same time.



**SHD-GC cables:**


- **Safety and ground check**: SHD-GC cables include a ground check conductor specifically for safety monitoring. This feature ensures that the equipment is properly grounded to prevent electrical hazards.


- **Power distribution**: They are mainly used for high-voltage power distribution in mining operations, suitable for equipment such as continuous miners, loaders and conveyors where safety and grounding are critical.



Voltage Ratings


**SHD-PCG Cables:**


- **Lower Voltage**: Typically rated at 2kV for applications where integrated control is required and lower voltage requirements are required.


**SHD-GC Cables:**


- **Higher Voltage**: Designed to withstand voltages up to 15kV for use in high voltage applications, SHD-GC cables provide robust power distribution and safety monitoring in demanding mining environments.





**SHD-PCG Cables:**

- **Multi-Conductor Design**: Contains three shielded power conductors and three unshielded control conductors, plus a ground conductor. Power conductors are shielded with tinned copper/textile braid.


- **Material**: Overall jacket is made of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) for durability and flexibility.


- **Insulation**: Both power and control conductors are in ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) for reliability and performance in harsh conditions.


**SHD-GC Cables:**


- **Ground Check Conductor**: In addition to the three power conductors, SHD-GC cables include an additional ground check conductor for monitoring and ensuring ground integrity.


- **Rugged Design**: Conductors are EPR insulated and shielded with a tinned copper/textile braid. Extra heavy-duty CPE jacket provides added protection against physical and environmental damage.

- **Materials and Insulation**: Similar to SHD-PCG, these cables use EPR as insulation and CPE as outer jacket, but with a focus on added ruggedness for high-voltage applications.
